Last weekend I had the privilege of leading worship out at Sunnybrae Bible Camp for May Camp 2014. It was awesome! There were 450+ senior high youth and youth leaders from FEB churches all over BC gathering together for one crazy weekend of games, hanging out, worship and hearing God’s word. My good friend Sid Koop (of Truth Matters, who my wife happens to work for) was speaking and he did a great job challenging everyone to think about what it looks like to be “on mission” as a follower of Christ. The theme of the weekend was Clash of the Clans and all of the groups were split up into four teams that battled it out throughout the weekend in hopes of gaining final supremacy. The games were nuts and I got to walk around catching people and taking their tickets on Saturday night, so that’s always fun.

May Camp 2014 Main Session #3

Leading singing was great – we had the chance to get pumped up and moving (Happy Day is always a favourite), sing some rock and roll hymns (How Great Thou Art) and I even taught a few new ones (We Bring It All and Cut Through the Noise). The band was fantastic – 3 guys from the area who graciously let me lead them musically and made it all come together really well. I even had the chance to bring the family with me and the kids loved hanging out on the playground/with the horses/on the beach/generally somewhere new! It was a fantastic weekend and I hope to be back that way at some point – nothing like the rocky mountains! Thanks to everyone who came out and those back home who were praying for it, from what I could see God was moving in some great ways and challenging us all to worship more fully with our whole lives and live on mission.
