Dave is a singer/songwriter, worship leader and Christ follower who has a heart for the church and the intersection of faith and art. Dave has roots all over the great country of Canada, being born in Hamilton, ON, completing an undergrad in Caronport, SK, pastoring in Lethbridge, AB for seven years, completing a masters in arts and theology at Regent College in Vancouver, BC, and has had the privilege of touring and spending time with great people from coast to coast. He’s currently living back in Hamilton where he serves as worship pastor at Compass Point Bible Church.

Dave’s songs have been described as “distinctive and accessible”, and “a needed breath of fresh air,.” and was nominated for  Longings & Liturgies, Dave’s second album following his 2012 EP [songs for singing], was recorded in Nashville, TN and Vancouver, BC, produced by Ben Reynolds and mastered by Jason Germain and was nominated as 2018 GMA Praise and Worship Album of the Year. The album was written as a set of songs based on moments from the church calendar to be used in corporate worship and includes a variety of musical and poetic influences that are both familiar and fresh.

Dave is an ambassador for Compassion Canada and loves sharing about their ministry and the way that we all can be involved in loving and releasing children from poverty in Jesus name as a part of our worship. He loves to help people engage in music and worship through writing and releasing music, training events, and thoughtful engagement with worship, technology, theology and culture.

Dave is a husband to Rachel, his wonderful wife, and father to Clara and Asher, his two fantastic kids. Beyond music and the church, he loves to spend time outside hiking, biking, canoeing and reading anything from modern fiction to the early church fathers.
